Our Drought Plan
We produce our Drought Plan every five years. The Plan sets out how we will manage our water resources in response to drought events. Our Plan covers both South West Water and Bournemouth Water following the merger in April 2016.
The Plan was prepared in accordance with guidelines issued by the Environment Agency. It describes how we intend to maintain water supply to our customers in the event of a drought. It also explains how we would aim to balance the needs of our domestic and commercial customers, the economy, and the environment.

We have recently started the process of updating our Drought Plan for 2021/22. Our new Draft Drought Plan was published for public consultation on 08 June 2021. No information has been excluded from this published plan on the grounds of national security.
The public consultation period ends on 13 July 2021. Any feedback (representations) on the Plan should be submitted by this date to the Secretary of State by email at firstname.lastname@example.org (please include "Drought Plan Consultation - South West Water" in the subject field), or by post as detailed within the Drought Plan.
Our Statement of Response to any feedback received and the revised Draft Drought Plan will be published in September 2021.
